To actually think about either packing up smoking or stop drinking alcohol or going on a diet you must have a good reason in the 1st place to get the motivation, otherwise as I’ve found in many many attempts in the last 50 years or so you fail miserably after around 2/3 weeks. Not to blow my own trumpet too much I packed in smoking over 30 years ago, I’m 11 months teatotal, and I’ve lost 4 stone plus on this diet purely by having a reason, getting motivated and the will power to move forward and actually do something about it.
