The state of our health

Nutrition & Education

In all my years of struggling with my weight and diet, I’ve come to the conclusion it’s me that makes all the decisions of what exactly goes in my mouth and down the hatch

We are taught at an early age that sugar is good and healthy and gives you loads of energy, yes that’s great when your growing up but when you start slowing down in your teens and beyond, and your still consuming vast amounts of carbohydrates and glucose related foods the weight starts to pile on.

Foods which you/we get into the habit of liking, not because it’s healthy but your mind is conditioned into thinking it’s ok since you were a youngster, this is the real problem we have, and nutrition basics should be taught in all schools as a lesson in the cericulium, so every child can make the right decisions about the correct food they should be consuming and not all the wrong fast-foods and sugary cakes and sweets they like and are actually consuming, hence making them grossly overweight and as they get older eventually without a doubt become diabetic, which we now know leads to all sorts of medical problems, and in years to come if nothing is done to stem the flow of the out of control food consumption, this will inevitably put a massive strain of this countries NHS hospitals and doctors surgeries, it will become if it hasn’t already an epidemic that will cost millions to put right.

Two healthy looking kids, NO !! more like spoilt looking brats, the ”I want” type whose parents always give in to, hence no discipline & grossly overweight.

So when is this or any future government going to wake up and actually do something about this major problem we have, like restricting the amount of fast food outlets there are in every single high street in the country, we all know who were talking about ( McDonalds,Burger King, Pizza Hut, KFC,the list goes on), there are not enough healthy places like Subway around, why is that, it’s because we’re all conditioned into eating what we like and what we want because most people are ignorant of the nutritional facts, today I also blame the parents for the fast food fix to shut their kids up, it’s a merry go round nightmare that nobody is going to solve because of the vast amount of profits involved, and unfortunately this government prefers the tax money from the outlets rather than looking after it’s peoples health.

So there you have it all in a nutshell the reality of it all, this is totally my thoughts and opinions, but I have a brain and I’m trying my best to use it in the best possible way I can, for myself and my own health, because I know this government certainly aren’t going to help, I’m the only one who can influence my weight and my health.

This what the British Nutrition Foundation have to say about obesity.

One of the reasons I feel so passionate about this subject is I come from a family of 4 brothers and 2 sisters, both my sisters Valerie and Barbara were diabetic and died of cancer related diseases, my eldest brother Ken was schizophrenic and died of a stroke, my next eldest brother Dave died from lung cancer from smoking 40/50 fags everyday for over 50 years plus, my Dad died from aortic heart problems and my Mum passed away with Leukaemia, there’s only 2 of us left now me and my older brother Roger, so obviously I’m very concerned about my/our health and the consequences of all of the above I’ve ranted on about.
